Alexander Wang x Haydenshapes
In the summer of 2014, Alexander Wang teamed up with Haydenshapes to produce five marble print surfboards. Photographs of marble slabs were digitally printed onto silk, then inlayed into the boards during their production. There were only 5 boards made, each personally crafted by Haydenshapes founder, Hayden Cox. The boards appeared in art installations in Tokyo and New York. The surfboards are the award winning Haydenshapes Hypto Krypto model, which we recently crowned the best-selling surfboard of 2015.
Released in 2010 and made available instores worldwide for a measly $4000, you probably won’t see one of these boards at your local any time soon.
Marc Jacobs x Hap Jacobs
Time Magazine considered Marc Jacobs one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2010. In 2011, he teamed up with the aptly named Hermosa Beach shaper Hap Jacobs, to produce a range of Jacobs Surfboards. There were 9 models available for sale on the Marc Jacobs website, mostly longboards, although this 80’s inspired gun was probably the pick of the bunch.
